Our Approach

Our goal is to provide a high quality performing arts education through our amazing instructors. We expect both our students and instructors to come to class prepared and ready to learn and play. For our young students, we also want parents and guardians to be connected to this experience. Parents and guardians should feel free to contact their child’s instructors with any questions, comments, or concerns they may have. All student are also welcome to contact Michael Kiesling (TheaterintheAttic@gmail.com) with any questions about our program offerings.

Trial Lessons and Packages

Private Lessons: We offer private lessons in 30- or 60-minute increments. We welcome the opportunity to provide you with a trial lesson with the instructor of your choice before committing to purchasing a lesson package. Should you choose to enroll as a student after your trial lesson, that first lesson will roll into your first package. In order to promote consistent learning, lessons are provided on a weekly basis and must be purchased in blocks of at least 4 lessons at a time. You also may opt to automatically continue your lessons into the next 4-week block. Any rolling lesson packages require at least 1 weeks’ notice prior to the end of the current block for termination.

Group Classes: Group classes are provided in 6- or 8-week intervals depending on the class. Full payment is required at the start of class; however, payment for late joiners will be prorated.

Payment: We accept Venmo (@MichaelKiesling) or PayPal payment. We will assist you with setting up your payment arrangements upon enrollment. All payments are final.

Attendance Policy

Punctuality: Please be ready for class at your appointed time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, then you will be considered absent and the instructor will close that class session.

Missed Lessons/Notice Requirements: If you or your instructor cannot attend the regularly scheduled lesson, each party is expected to provide 24 hours notice to the other if at all possible. In that event, you and the instructor will collaborate to reschedule the missed lesson at a mutually agreeable time, without additional charge.

We understand that on rare occasions, it may not be possible to provide 24 hours’ notice. For this reason, we allow a student to cancel or miss a lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice, 1 time out of every 8 lessons, without penalty. This lesson may be rescheduled at a mutually agreeable time. Any additional missed or cancelled lessons within the 8-week period, without at least 24 hours’ notice, will be forfeited and no makeup lesson or refund will be provided.
